The Renewable Energy division is focused on accelerating the transition to a cleaner, greener future. We are actively investing in and developing a diverse portfolio of sustainable energy technologies that reduce carbon emissions, promote energy independence, and support the UK’s climate goals.​

A major pillar of our work is biofuel innovation, led by Syntech Biofuel, one of our flagship companies. Syntech produces advanced sustainable biofuels, achieving greenhouse gas reductions of up to 86% compared to traditional diesel. This high-quality biofuel, Syntech ASB meets the BS EN 14214 standard and is already being used in generators, heating systems, and electrical applications across a range of sectors.

With full ISCC certification and a commitment to the circular economy, Syntech represents the future of low-emission liquid fuel solutions, transforming waste into energy and supporting decarbonisation in industries where electrification is not yet viable.

 

Alongside biofuels, we continue to invest in other core renewable energy technologies:

• Solar energy plays a vital role in our strategy, with rooftop and ground-mounted installations generating clean electricity for homes, businesses, and communities.

• Wind energy, through both large-scale wind farms and micro wind innovations, allows us to harness natural resources in a wide variety of locations.

• Battery storage systems ensure the energy we generate can be stored and delivered when it’s most needed, enhancing resilience and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

 

We also have plans approved for Paisley Energy Storage at Paisley and Wittering Solar and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station, Cambridgeshire.

These technologies are not standalone, they are being woven into the infrastructure of our Smart Homes and Smart Communities, where residents can monitor, manage, and optimise their energy usage in real-time.
