Phoenix Sustainable Investments is proud to share another remarkable sporting achievement from Karl Hick, who competed at the T100 Triathlon World Championships in Lusail, Qatar on 13 December 2025, and once again won his age group.
Entry to the T100 World Championships is earned, not given. Only athletes who place top 10 in their age group at a qualifying T100 event secure a spot at the final. Karl did exactly that by qualifying in his age group in London on 10 August, earning qualification for Qatar and the chance to race against the very best amateur triathletes from around the globe.
Facing world-class competition, championship level courses and intense desert conditions, Karl delivered another standout performance, taking first place in his age group at the World Championships. It’s a result that speaks to consistency, preparation and an ability to perform under pressure on the biggest stage available to age-group athletes.
It completed a remarkable 3 months for Karl with his 2 gold medals in the European Championships in Madeira where he helped GB be the leading country in Europe regarding Masters Athletics.
Karl’s success is built on years of disciplined training and a deep understanding of endurance sport. While many competitors rely heavily on data and technology, Karl is often seen racing with a simple analogue watch, a quiet nod to experience over distraction. As he puts it:
“I know my body. I know when I can push a bit harder and when I need to back off. That judgement has been built up over years of running.”
That instinctive approach, combined with mental toughness and physical preparation has proven effective against the strongest fields in age-group triathlon.
Held from 11–13 December 2025, the T100 World Championship Final brought together elite age-group competitors to race like professionals: closed roads, meticulously designed courses, and a championship atmosphere where only the best rise to the top. Winning here places an athlete among the very best in their division worldwide.
Karl’s performance in Qatar is another powerful example of what sustained commitment and belief can achieve. It reflects not only personal sporting excellence, but the same resilience and determination that underpin his leadership beyond sport.
