Phoenix attends the Team Lincolnshire Annual Conference

Phoenix Sustainable Investments was delighted to take part in this year’s Team Lincolnshire Annual Conference, held earlier this month at Lincoln Bishop University. With 98 ambassadors in attendance, the event brought together businesses, local leaders, and partners to celebrate Team Lincolnshire’s achievements over the past year and to share updates for the year ahead.

Representing Phoenix were Karl Hick, Chief Executive Officer, and Richard Broadhead, Chief Executive Officer of the Sibson Garden Community project.

The event opened with a welcome and update from Tony Reynolds, Inward Investment Manager, followed by an informative presentation from Megan Rice of Lincolnshire County Council on “Working with the Public Sector.” Megan provided valuable guidance on how the Council collaborates with suppliers, detailing its procurement processes and initiatives to support small and medium-sized enterprises. Her presentation highlighted efforts to make it easier for local businesses to engage, including the production of video guides and invitations for regional suppliers to tender for new opportunities.

A highlight of the day was the keynote address by Derek Redmond, former Olympic athlete, who delivered an inspiring presentation on overcoming adversity. Drawing on his athletic career, Derek explored how growth is driven by engagement, goal setting, and adaptability. His message resonated strongly with the audience, reinforcing the ideas that “high engagement promotes and develops high performance” and that “skills are irrelevant; engagement makes the difference.”

Additional presentations were delivered by Councillor Liam Kelly, Executive Councillor for Growth and Veterans Affairs, and Emma Olivier-Townrow, Chair of the Team Lincolnshire Steering Group, who both emphasised the importance of collaboration in driving Lincolnshire’s economic growth.
